Pulaski County Sanitation is a County Department under Pulaski County Public Works. Our office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 till 5:00 and Friday from 7:30 till 4:30. This office handles services regarding garbage, yard waste and bulky item pick up for the residents of unincorporated Pulaski County. In addition, this office works with Pulaski County Regional Waste to assist with recycling efforts. Garbage collection is currently contracted to Waste Management for a fee of $20.80 a month. This fee includes garbage pick up once a week, yard waste pick up and bulky item pick up twice a year.
Beginning in February of 2007, Pulaski County commenced a program of automated refuse collection for all residences. The Pulaski County Quorum Court chose this option to control the increasing costs of trash disposal.
Household Waste Collection
When a resident moves into the unincorporated area of Pulaski County, they should call this office to set up service at 501-664-7400. Each home is furnished with a special 96 gallon refuse container which the resident rolls to the end of the driveway or street (on private roads) on collection day for pick up. The garbage truck will lift and empty as well as return the cart to the same location. The operator controls the operation from his/her seat. After collection, the resident rolls the refuse container back to their storage place.
The cart remains the property of the contractor and will be maintained and replaced at no cost to the resident except for damage due to their negligence or abuse. Please do not take the container when you move; just contact this office by phone (501-664-7400) and request the service discontinued and your can will be picked up.
Please Note: The following is not allowed in the general waste container: appliances, electronics, flammables, chemical/radioactive material, paint, construction material, dead animals remains, any type of oil, medical waste, needles and/or bodily semi-solids and bodily fluids.
Yard Waste
Your scheduled day for yard waste will be the day after you household garbage day. Yard waste consists of leaves, limbs, or brush that is bagged or in a can and is placed out by the side of the road.
Tree Limbs and Brush
These items must be called in after you put them out and we will collect in the order that we receive the calls. Tree limbs must be cut no larger than 4 ft in length. If you have a tree professionally cut down please have the contractor remove this from your property. In the event that we have to come out and recover the limbs there will be a charge for debris removal.
Please have your account number ready when you call our office.
